Born in Margate, Kent,

Rob began guitar lessons at age eleven, and was taught both classical and electric guitar by Jeff Alexander for the next seven years, achieving grade 7 classical guitar along the way. Rob took up drums aged fifteen and has studied with Dave Neal, Les Feast, and Dave White, achieving distinction at grade eight after three years. Rob has also studied piano with Nick Capocci, and saxophone with Dominic Shawcross.

After studying A-level music Rob moved on to a music degree at the University of Southampton. Here his performance skills have developed further, and to a wider range of music, through drum and percussion tuition from Dan Priest. This has been supplemented with performance coaching from Dave Marchant. Aside from performance, Rob has also focused his studies on music technology and composition.

Before moving to Southampton, Rob regularly gigged around Kent with bands “The Release” and “Evil Jim”. More recently Rob has played with Southampton based bands “The Allsop White Quartet” and “Channel Out”, as well as a return to Kent with the function band “Hobo”.

Drumming influences include: Billy Ward, Carter Beauford, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, Buddy Rich and many others.
